WHAT IS A DATABASE?

A database is like a big organized collection of information that you can easily find things in. It's kind of like a giant filing cabinet where you can store all sorts of different stuff and then quickly look it up when you need it. It's used in lots of different places, like schools, businesses, and hospitals, to keep track of important information and make sure everything stays organized and secure.

In a database, information is put into tables, which are like grids made up of rows and columns. Each row is like a separate piece of information, while each column tells you something specific about that information. You can ask the database questions using a special language called SQL, which helps you find exactly what you're looking for. Databases also have other features, like making sure everything is accurate and safe, which helps them work smoothly and efficiently.
